> Nintendo showed us on the show floor the new Starfox 64 remake for the 3DS. This iteration of the n64 classic is repainted with richer graphics and hi-res sound. Unlike Ocarina of Time’s slight improvement on the visuals Starfox seems to truly stand out from the crowd as a true next-gen remake. Ships are highly detailed and enemies are easily identifiable as you valiantly break enemy lines by doing the series signature move a ”barrel roll.” Buildings and environments really pop as the new engine takes advantage of the new hardware. I can honestly say the 3DS was made with this game in mind since the 3D effects really immerses you into the Starfox universe… literally the best use of 3D I have seen thus far. One aspect that really confuses me is the addition of gyro-sensor controls where one can simple move your ship by moving your 3DS around; Which isn’t meant to be used with the 3D on.
> Nicer graphics and killer local multiplayer is making this game a must have!!!
> Other than the beefed up features mentioned above StarFox 64 comes packed with a deeper multiplayer experience for 4 players. Nintendo has added a wealth of new massive multiplayer maps that complement the game which is a welcome since the n64 version lacked multiplayer maps(Only 2 if I remember). Sadly the multiplayer is only local and lacks any online features!!!
